Economic Development Website

When the Oak Ridge North Economic Development Corporation came to Trulove Webworks, their existing website was no longer meeting the needs of the organization or the community it serves. The site had become outdated, and their team was no longer able to easily update it. They needed a modern website that looked professional, functioned reliably, and could serve as a useful resource for people interested in doing business in or relocating to Oak Ridge North, Texas.

As the economic development organization for the City of Oak Ridge North, the website serves a unique purpose. Its audience includes existing local businesses, prospective business owners, developers, residents, and people considering moving to the area. That meant we needed to think beyond a traditional informational website and create a platform that could help communicate both the opportunities and advantages of the community.

We began by updating the overall look and feel of the site, creating a cleaner, more current design that better represented Oak Ridge North and the professionalism of the organization. At the same time, we improved the functionality and structure behind the website so information could be organized in a way that was easier for visitors to navigate and easier for the organization to maintain.

A major focus of the project was making the website a practical resource. Someone considering opening or relocating a business to Oak Ridge North has different questions than a resident or an existing local business owner. We structured the website so visitors could more easily find information relevant to their needs, learn about the community, and explore the resources available through the Economic Development Corporation.

For economic development organizations, a website can also play an important role in creating a first impression of the community itself. Business owners and developers researching potential locations often begin that process online. The website needed to communicate that Oak Ridge North is an established, connected community with resources available to support businesses interested in becoming part of it.

Just as importantly, the new website needed to solve one of the biggest frustrations with the previous site: the inability to easily keep it current. A website designed to serve as a community and business resource loses much of its value if information cannot be updated as opportunities, programs, documents, or community information change. We developed the new site with ongoing usability and growth in mind so it could continue evolving with the organization.

The result is a website that balances professional design with practical functionality. Rather than simply giving an outdated website a visual facelift, we created a stronger digital resource for the Oak Ridge North Economic Development Corporation and the audiences it serves.

This project is a great example of how thoughtful website design can support an organization with multiple audiences and a broader community mission. The new site gives the EDC a professional platform for sharing information while helping business owners, residents, developers, and prospective newcomers better understand what Oak Ridge North has to offer.

Most importantly, the organization now has a website that can continue growing and changing along with the community it represents.
